With a score written by Dogfight and The Greatest Showman songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a book by Steven Levenson, Dear Evan Hansen proved a huge hit on Broadway where it won six Tony Awards.

It’s become just as popular in London with the seven Olivier Award nominations, winning three including Best New Musical, Best Original Score and Best Actor for Sam Tutty.

It tells the story of socially awkward teenager Evan. In his last year of high school and with only one person he considers a friend, an assignment from his therapist leads to a misunderstanding that casts him in the centre of a tragedy.

Alongside Sam Tutty in the title role, the current London cast features Rebecca McKinnis playing Evan’s mum Heidi, Lucy Anderson as Zoe Murphy, Doug Colling as Connor Murphy, Lauren Ward as Cynthia Murphy and Rupert Young as Larry Murphy.

Jack Loxton plays Jared with Nicole Raquel Dennis as Alana. Marcus Harman plays alternate Evan in certain performances.

Dear Evan Hansen plays at the Noel Coward Theatre.
