First casting has been confirmed for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new Cinderella musical.
Teased as a new, modern spin on the all time classic fairytale, the show is scheduled to open in the West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in May 2021.
The musical will feature music from Webber with lyrics by David Zippel and an original story and book by Emerald Fennel.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella cast
Carrie Hope Fletcher was previously confirmed to play the title role of Cinderella.
Joining her will be Victoria Hamilton-Barritt (Death of a Salesman, In the Heights) in the role of the Stepmother.
Newcomer Ivano Turco has been cast as Prince Sebastian, making his West End debut in the role.
Further casting is to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that Laurence Connor will direct with choreography from JoAnn M Hunter. The pair previously worked together on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s stage adaptation of School Of Rock.
