Based on the 2001 film of the same name directed by Baz Luhrmann and written by Luhrmann and Craig Pearce, Moulin Rouge The Musical follows Christian who falls in love with actress and courtesan Satine, star of Paris cabaret venue Moulin Rouge.

The jukebox musical features a book by John Logan with a pop rock score made up of songs from artists ranging from Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Sia, Katy Perry and Beyonce to Elton John, Rihanna, The White Stripes and Lorde.

The show is currently playing at the Piccadilly Theatre.

The musical opened on 12 November 2021 and is currently booking through until January 2023.

It has a running time of 2 hours, 45 minutes including interval.

The current Moulin Rouge! The Musical West End cast features Liisi LaFontaine as Satine with Jamie Bogyo set to play Christian.

They’re joined by Elia Lo Tauro as Santiago, Sophie Carmen Jones as Nini, Simon Bailey as the Duke, Jason Pennycooke as Toulouse Lautrec, Johnny Bishop as Baby Doll, Zoe Birkett as Arabia, Timmika Ramsay as La Chocolat and Clive Carter as Harold Zidler.

At certain performances, Tanisha Spring plays the role of Satine.

Completing the cast are Femi Akinfolarin, Robson Broad, Ian Carlyle, Jonathan Cordin, Anthony Cragg, Fletcher Dobinson, Katie Ella Dunsden, Adam Gillian, Luke Jackson, Tamsin January, Alicia Mencía, Ciro Lourencio Meulens, Georgia Morgan, Melissa Nettleford, Ian Oswald, Craig Ryder, Ebby Sama, Elly Shaw, Tinovimbanashe Sibanda, Katie Singh, Ope Sowande, Toyan Thomas-Browne, Amy Thornton, Misty May Tindall, Jon Tsouras, Tommy Wade-Smith and Lily Wang.
