Scott Alan song cycle The Distance You Have Come will play two dates in the West End this summer.
The line up of West End stars will bring Scott Alan’s music to life this June with tickets on sale now.
A revival of the 2018 production at Cockpit Theatre, The Distance You Have Come will play at London’s Apollo Theatre on Monday, 21 June and Monday, 28 June. Both shows are at 7:30PM.
A synopsis of the show shares: “Every day we each make a series of decisions, some big and some small but all that shape our future. We are all on a journey of self-discovery, juggling life, love and loss along the way. We all have to choose the steps we take and will each meet people who will change our path forever.
“In a song cycle of his most acclaimed works, sung by some of the best voices in the west end, award winning composer and lyricist Scott Alan leads us through a year in the intertwined lives of six people facing the joy and heartache of the human experience, as they each search for their own version of happiness – which is, after all, what it’s all about.”
The West End cast features Andy Coxon (West Side Story, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical), Alice Fearn (Come From Away, Wicked), Adrian Hansel (Starlight Express, Hairspray), Emma Hatton (Evita, Wicked), Dean John-Wilson (The King and I, Aladdin) and Maiya Quansah-Breed (Six, Rent).
The show will feature orchestrations and musical direction by Scott Hayes (Rent; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change), direction from Kirk Jameson (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; Marry Me a Little; Madagascar), Lighting Design by Andrew Ellis (Eugenius, Flashdance).
Scott Alan said: “When the producers for “The Distance You Have Come” approached me about getting the cast and creatives back together for a reunion in the West End, my only hesitation was knowing I couldn’t travel to direct this two night only event. Thankfully we have entrusted the talent of Kirk Jameson to bring the story to life.
“Joined by the returning talents of Scott Hayes (Musical Director/ Orchestrator) and Andrew Ellis (Lighting), I can’t imagine a more beautiful night out at the theatre. One of the things I love so much about this show is the group of people who joined together to create it’s original inception.
“Since our final performance, we have continued to stay in touch via zoom reunions and weekly Whatsapp conversations. This group of people have truly become a family. A family that I love and adore and trust my music and work to in my absence.”
