Athena Collins is to join the current West End cast of Six The Musical this summer.
Having previously performed on the show’s UK tour, Collins will temporarily takeover the role of Catherine Parr from Danielle Steers.
Collins’ first performance is scheduled for 29 June 2021 before playing the role full-time between 6 July and 1 August 2021.
In a message posted to social media about the switch up, Steers revealed she was taking a break from performing due to upcoming minor surgery.
The post reads: “Hi Queendom, Unfortunately, I need to take a temporary break from performing as I undergo some pre-planned, minor elective surgery. I am delighted to announce that in my absence Athena Collins will be covering the role of Catherine Parr in the West End.
“Her first performance is scheduled for Tuesday 29th June 2021, she will then perform the role full time from Tuesday 6th July with her last performance scheduled for Sunday 1st August 2021.
“I wish her the best of luck in this 4-week period and I know she will absolutely smash it. Thank you so much for your never-ending support and I can’t wait to get back on stage soon! Lots of love Danielle x”
Completing the current West End cast are Jarneia Richard-Noel as Catherine of Aragon, Courtney Bowman as Anne Boleyn, Natalie Paris as Jane Seymour, Alexia McIntosh as Anna of Cleves and Sophie Isaacs as Katherine Howard.
They’re joined by alternates Zara MacIntosh, Cherelle Jay, Hana Stewart and Collette Guitart.
