Ralph Fiennes is to star in the world premiere stage adaptation of Four Quartets.
Based on T S Eliot’s poems, the piece will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre. between 18 November and 18 December with tickets on sale now here.
Ralph Fiennes – who also directs – delivers an extraordinary tour de force in T S Eliot’s final masterpiece which offers four interwoven meditations on the nature of time, faith and the quest for spiritual enlightenment.
Mostly written during the Second World War when the closure of the playhouses during the Blitz interrupted Eliot’s work in theatre, Four Quartets contains some of the most exquisite and unforgettable reflections upon surviving periods of national crisis.
The creative team for the stage version includes scenic design by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting design by Tim Lutkin and sound design by Christopher Shutt with James Dacre serveing as creative producer.
Ahead of its run in the West End, the piece is currently touring the UK having started performances at the Theatre Royal Bath in May.
The show is currently playing at the Cambridge Arts Theatre (28 June – 10 July) before moving to MAST (Mayflower Studios), Southampton (12 – 17 July), Malvern Theatres (19 – 24 July) and York Theatre Royal (26 – 31 July).
