Musical & Juliet has confirmed its 2021 cast for when it reopens in London’s West End.
Like other shows, the hit new jukebox musical has been closed since last March due to the ongoing pandemic.
Ahead of the reopening, a new cast has been confirmed.
The show will welcome Alex Thomas-Smith in the role of May, taking over from Arun Blair-Mangat.
Returning to the cast will be Miriam-Teak Lee in the title role with Cassidy Janson as Anne Hathaway, Oliver Tompsett as William Shakespeare, David Bedella as Lance, Jordan Luke Gage as Romeo, Melanie La Barrie as Nurse and Tim Mahendran as Francois.
Making up the ensemble from September will be Roshani Abbey, Jocasta Almgill, Josh Baker, Ivan De Freitas, Rhian Duncan, Kieran Lai, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Jaye Marshall, Grace Mouat, Antoine Murray-Straughan, Billy Nevers, Kerri Norville, Christopher Parkinson, Kirstie Skivington, Alex Tranter, Sophie Usher and Rhys Wilkinson.
& Juliet is currently booking through to February 12, 2022 having first opened in November 2019.
The show is described as an “irreverent and fun-loving” musical that retells the iconic Shakespeare tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by asking: what if Juliet’s famous ending was really just her beginning?
The musical features a collection of iconic songs written by Max Martin including Break Free (Ariana Grande), …Baby One More Time (Britney Spears), Teenage Dream (Katy Perry) Everybody (Backstreet Boys), Can’t Feel My Face (The Weeknd) and It’s My Life (Bon Jovi).
An original London cast recording was released in 2019, available to buy, download and stream here.
