Be More Chill in London’s West End has been forced to cancel performances for the next week.

Producers have announced a pause until 19 August after a member of the show’s team tested positive for Coronavirus.

In a statement posted on Twitter, they said: “Sadly one member of our team on Be More Chill at the Shaftesbury Theatre has tested positive for Coronavirus, and as a result the production has temporarily been suspended.

“The next performance will be at 2.30pm on Thursday 19 August.

“Ticket providers will be in contact to offer all affected audience members refunds or tickets for a future performance.

“See you soon for our final 3 weeks of #BeMoreLDN ?”

Based on the novel of the same name, the Be More Chill musical is currently playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre with tickets on sale now.

What if popularity came in a pill? Would you take it, no questions asked? In Be More Chill, achieving that elusive “perfect life” is now possible thanks to some mysterious new technology-but it comes at a cost that’s not as easy to swallow. What could possibly go wrong?

Blending the contemporary with retro sci-fi, this thrillingly exciting, comically subversive, and deeply felt new musical takes on the competing voices in all of our heads. And ultimately proves, there’s never been a better time in history to be yourself-especially if you’re a loser…geek…or whatever.

Those on the current cast are Grace Mouat, Nathania Ong, Blake Patrick Anderson, Miracle Chance, Stewart Clarke, Eloise Davies, Scott Folan, Christopher Fry, James Hameed, and Miles Paloma with understudies Brandon Lee Sears, Gabriel Hinchcliffe and Eve Norris.

The show is currently playing for a limited time through to 5 September 2021 before & Juliet returns to the venue.
