Five Guys Named Moe revival comes to Upstairs At The Gatehouse from December

A new revival production of Five Guys Named Moe comes to London this festive period.

Ovation will present a brand new production of the musical at Upstairs At The Gatehouse from 15 December 2021 to 16 January 2022.

Mykal Rand directs and choreographs with a cast made up of AJ Lewis, Andre Coulson, Juan Jackson, Kieran McGinn, KM Drew Boateng and Lawrence Rowe.

Five Guys Named Moe is written by Clarke Peters and uses the songs of Louis Jordan to tell the story of Nomax. Single and broke, Nomax is comforted by Five Guys Named Moe – Big Moe, Little Moe, Eat Moe, Know Moe and Four-Eyed Moe – who help turn his life around with song and dance.

Songs include Saturday Night Fish Fry; Safe Sane and Single; and Is You Is Or Is You Ain’t My Baby, which will be performed by the cast and a five piece band in the intimate theatre above The Gatehouse in London.

Five Guys Named Moe had its West End premiere in 1990, picking up two Olivier Awards, before a Broadway run in 1992. The show was last seen in London in 2017 with a site-specific production at the Marble Arch Theatre.
