2:22 - A Ghost Story to return to West End at Gielgud Theatre from December

222 ghost story

Danny Robins play 2:22 – A Ghost Story will return to the West End from December for a new limited engagement.

2:22 – A Ghost Story is described as a “supernatural thriller” and recently ran at the Noël Coward Theatre.

It’s now transferring to Gielgud Theatre for a ten week run from 4 December to 12 February 2022.

Casting is to be announced with the previous run featuring Lily Allen making her West End debut alongside Julia Chan, Hadley Fraser and Jake Wood. Matthew Dunster returns to direct.

Writer Danny Robins said: “I was blown away by the response to the play this summer, both from the critics and our amazing audiences, so I am hugely chuffed to be able to bring the show back so quickly and to this beautiful, historic theatre.

“Slipping from Autumn into Winter, it feels the perfect time for a ghost story, so I can’t wait to spook a whole load of new audiences at the Gielgud. I’m hoping you’ll laugh, jump, be on the edge of your seat, and then spend the rest of the night talking about whether ghosts exist!”

A full teaser for the play shares:

Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they’re going to stay up… until 2:22… and then they’ll know.

This edge-of-your-seat, supernatural thriller from award-winning writer Danny Robins, creator of the hit BBC podcast The Battersea Poltergeist, is directed by Matthew Dunster. Intriguing, funny and scary, it takes you into one adrenaline-filled night where secrets will emerge and ghosts may appear… What do you believe? And do you dare discover the truth?

2:22 – A Ghost Story features set design by Anna Fleischle, costume design by Cindy Lin, lighting design by Lucy Carter, sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph Sound, casting by Jessica Ronane CDG and illusions by Chris Fisher.
