Gary Barlow has teased that a West End production of his Finding Neverland musical is set to open in 2025.

Finding Neverland features songs by Take That’s Gary Barlow with Eliot Kennedy and a book by James Graham.

The musical is based on the 1998 play The Man Who Was Peter Pan and its subsequent film Finding Neverland which starred Johnny Depp.

It tells the story of playwright J. M. Barrie and the inspiration behind his iconic character Peter Pan.

The musical first premiered at Leicester’s Curve Theatre in 2012 before being rewritten for a US production in Chicago and Broadway run where it ran between 2015 and 2016. West End stars Laura Michelle Kelly and Alfie Boe were among the casts during its run in New York.

Although there’s been much talk of the show returning to the UK, as yet nothing has been announced.

However this week Gary said let slip the show is set for a West End bow in “summer 2025”.

He told Amy Hart on her P&O Cruises Official Podcast: “I spent five years of my life writing that musical. It was a lot of blood sweat and tears but it was worth it. It was absolutely wonderful.”

Speaking previously in 2022, Gary told Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye that a brand new production was in the works with an updated book and songs.

“It’s a new show,” he teased.

With Barlow not revealing any more, we’ll just have to watch this space!

For now, you can check out an original Broadway cast recording here.
