Matilda The Musical has extended its run in London’s West End to the end of 2022.
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s London production has been playing at the Cambridge Theatre from 2011.
Seen by more than 10 million people across more than 90 cities worldwide, this autumn marked 10 years since the multi award-winning show opened in the West End.
Matilda The Musical is now booking through to 18 December 2022 with tickets on sale now.
Adapted from Roald Dahl’s much loved 1988 book Matilda The Musical is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.
Written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, and direction by Matthew Warchus, the production is designed by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and the special effects and illusions are by Paul Kieve.
The current West End cast is led by Imogen Cole, Alyssa D’Souza, Alex Munden and Zoe Simon sharing the role of Matilda.
Carly Thoms will be taking over the role of Miss Honey, joining the adult cast which includes Elliot Harper as Miss Trunchbull, Sebastien Torkia as Mr Wormwood and Annette McLaughlin who will be returning to the company in the role of Mrs Wormwood, taking over from Marianne Benedict.
