Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella extends West End run to February 2023

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella has extended its run in the West End.

The new musical, with lyrics by David Zippel and an original story and book by Emerald Fennel, made its debut last year at the Gillian Lynne theatre.

The production has announced it is now booking through to February 2023 with tickets on sale now.

The retelling of the classic fairytale focuses on Cinderella – played by Carrie Hope Fletcher in the West End – and Prince Sebastian, the younger brother to Prince Charming.

Further casting includes Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as the Stepmother, Ivano Turco as Prince Sebastian, brother to Prince Charming, Gloria Onitiri as the Godmother and Laura Baldwin and Georgina Castle as the Stepsisters.

Laurence Connor (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, School of Rock) directs with choreography by Joanne Hunter.

You can listen to an original studio cast album of the show here. The recording features guest vocals from Helen George, Adam Lambert and Todrick Hall.

The album was recorded in lockdown after the show’s original opening was postponed.

Meanwhile a Broadway production is in the works, with plans to premiere later this year.

Speaking to the New York Post about plans for a transfer last year, Webber shared: “I would think we’ll be open by late summer [2022].”
