First look: Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon at Southwark Playhouse

A first look at Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon has been revealed as it opens at Southwark Playhouse.

The debut play from Rosie Day plays at the venue until 5 March 2022 having opened 9 February.

Written by and starring Rosie Day, the one person show includes interactive filmed scenes which will feature Amanda Abbington (Sherlock), Philip Glenister (Life on Mars) and Olivier nominated Isabella Pappas, with Maxine Peake providing voice overs.

Miss-trusted. Miss-treated. Miss you. Welcome to a miss-spent youth. After her sisters untimely death by a Yorkshire Pudding, a wayward teenage girl joins a scout group to help her navigate the kicks and punches of adolescence with varying degrees of success.

Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon is a rollercoaster ride through youth. Whether you are a young person, know a young person, or simply were a young person once – it’s time to rip up the rule book and reconnect with your younger self.

Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon returns to London after a sell-out run at the Old Red Lion Theatre in 2020.

Georgie Staight directs the production with set and costume design by Cara Evans, lighting design by Holly Ellis, sound design by Sam Glossop and video design by Dan Light.

Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon is produced by Zoe Weldon and Katy Galloway who along with Rosie Day and Georgie Staight make up the Teenage Armageddon Collective.
