The Phantom of the Opera has unveiled its new 2019 cast for London’s West End.
With a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Phantom Of The Opera has been playing in the West End for over 30 years.
Featuring lyrics from Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe with a book by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber, The Phantom Of The Opera is based on the French novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux.
The Phantom of the Opera 2019 London cast
Starting performances from September 9, 2019, Australian actor Josh Piterman will make his West End debut in the lead role of The Phantom .
Britt Lenting will make her West End debut in the role of Carlotta Giudicelli with Richard Woodford as Monsieur André and Danny Whitehead in the role of Raoul.
Kelly Mathieson continues as Christine Daaé, with Bridget Costello playing alternate Christine Daaé on select performances.
Also continuing are Ross Dawes as Monsieur Firmin, Jacinta Mulcahy as Madame Giry, Paul Ettore Tabone as Ubaldo Piangi, Georgia Ware as Meg Giry and Scott Davies as The Phantom standby.
Completing the cast are Zoe Arshamian, Matthew Barrow, James Butcher, Grace Castle, Sophie Caton, Sophie Cottrill, Corinne Cowling, Hadrian Delacey, Morven Douglas, Paul Erbs, Philip Griffiths, Katy Hanna, Ellen Jackson, Adam Robert Lewis, Kris Manuel, Tim Morgan, Danielle Pullum, Rebecca Ridout, Eleanor Sanderson-Nash, Anna Shircliff, Alistair So, John Stacey, Manon Taris, Andrei Teodor Iliescu, Ben Tyler, Claire Tilling, Victoria Ward and Simon Whitaker.
The Phantom of the Opera plays at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End.
It tells the story of soprano singer Christine Daaé who becomes the obsession of a masked musical genius who resides beneath a Paris opera house.
Recently a 2020 The Phantom of the Opera UK tour was announced, opening in February at the Leicester Curve.
