Director Andy Fickman said: “Heathers has captured the hearts and imaginations of so many people in the UK since it was first produced here in 2018. This marks an exciting next step in the show’s journey.”

David Gilbery, CEO BK Studios added: “This is a brilliant opportunity for us to bring this hit show to so many more audiences on a global scale, and we’re proud to be partnering with such a prolific studio in making that happen.”

It’s the latest London show to be released on video with filmed versions of the recent Bonnie and Clyde concert and The Prince of Egypt in the West End also on their way.

Heathers the Musical is based on the movie of the same name which starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.

It tells the story of high school student Veronica Sawyer who, long for popularity, finds herself taken under the wings of three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers. The plot takes a dark twist when the mysterious JD turns up, teaching Veronica that it might kill to be a nobody, but it’s murder being a somebody.

With a book, music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy, the London production is directed by Andy Fickman with choreography by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson.

Meanwhile an original London cast recording released starring Carrie Hope Fletcher.
