New Waitress album features cut songs and original demos

Musical Waitress has released a new album this week featuring cut songs and original demos from the show.

Waitress features a ground-breaking, all-female lead creative team with original music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam) and direction by Tony Award® winner Diane Paulus (Pippin, Finding Neverland).

The show opened on Broadway in 2016 with a West End production beginning performances in February of this year.

The musical has become known for songs including What Baking Can Do and it’s big eleven-o’clock number, She Used To Be Mine.

Now some of the songs that didn’t make it into the final production are getting their chance in the spotlight.

New album What’s Not Inside: The Lost Songs From Waitress was released on Friday, August 16.
