A performance of Aladdin in London's West End has been filmed for future release.
The Disney stage musical closed last month, playing its final performance on Saturday, August 24.
An adaption of the hit 1992 animated movie, Aladdin opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in London in June 2016.
It's now been revealed that the show's closing performances were filmed for a future release (via FilmedOnStage.com)
The filmed cast features Ainsley Melham in the title role with Trevor Dion Nicholas as Genie, Isabelle McCalla as Jasmine, Jonathan Freeman as Jafar, Don Daryll Rivera as Iago, Irvine Iqbal as Sultan, Brian Gonzales as Babkak, and Brandon O'Neill as Kassim.
Details about when we can expect to see the filmed version are yet to be announced.
It's rumoured that it could make its way onto Disney's upcoming online streaming service, Disney+, due to launch in November.
Meanwhile, Replacing Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre will be a revival of Disney's Mary Poppins, scheduled to begin previews from 23 October 2019 with official opening night slated for 13 November 2019.
Across the pond in New York, Aladdin continues to play on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
The stage adaption of the iconic animated musical tells the story of a young boy who chances upon a wish-granting genie.
It features both the songs from the original film plus new music written for the stage.
