Watch Joe Sugg make West End debut in Waitress the Musical

Joe Sugg made his debut in the cast of Waitress the Musical in London’s West End this week.

Vlogger and social media star Sugg made his West End debut in the show on Monday (September 6), after recently making the Strictly Come Dancing final in 2018.

He takes over from Blake Harrison in the role of Ogie.

Joe said: “I got to see the show a couple of months back and it’s absolutely fantastic.

“I’m excited to be a part of the cast and to have now landed a role in the West End really has topped off an incredible year for me. I hope I do everyone proud.”

After the performance, Joe took to Twitter to thank his fans: “That was incredible thank you ❤️”

The latest Waitress cast change has also seen Tamlyn Henderson takeover Peter Hannah as Earl while Cindy Belliot has joined the ensemble with Nicole Raquel Dennis leaving the company.

The rest of the current cast features Lucie Jones currently in the lead role of Jenna with Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Marisha Wallace as Becky, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter and Andrew Boyer as diner owner Old Joe.

Completing the company are Kelly Agbowu, Piers Bate, Michael Hamway, Stephen Leask, Chris McGuigan, Olivia Moore, Nathaniel Morrison, Sarah O’Connor, Leanne Pinder, Charlotte Riby and Mark Willshire.

With a score by Sara Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson and direction by Paulus, Waitress features a ground-breaking, all-female lead creative team.

The Tony-nominated production tells the story of Jenna a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage.
