Jac Yarrow and Jason Donovan will return with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium in 2020, it’s been announced.
Fresh from its recent run, the production will be back for another limited season next summer.
Performances will begin on Thursday 2 July 2020, with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat playing a strictly limited 10-week season through until Sunday 6 September 2020.
Following his acclaimed appearance in the 2019 production, 21-year-old Jac Yarrow will return to the title role next summer.
Jason Donovan will also be returning as the Pharaoh with further casting for next year’s run to be announced in due course.
Donovan said: “This year was an absolute joy. Joseph has such a special connection with its audience and it has a huge emotional connection for me. Quite simply the show is pure musical magic.
“To be able to lean on the past yet build something new for the role of Pharaoh is an opportunity that cannot be done just once, and for performer or audience member alike, it just doesn’t get much better than the Palladium experience.”
Yarrow added: “Playing the iconic role of Joseph at its spiritual home, The Palladium, last summer was what I thought was a once-in-a-life-time opportunity.
“When I was asked to step back into the Dreamcoat for a second time, I couldn’t quite believe it. I can’t wait to be back!”
Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat first premiered in the 1970s and has gone on to become one of the world’s most widely recognised and performed musicals.
Featuring songs like Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, and Go, Go, Go, Joseph, productions have received 6 Tony nominations and 7 Olivier Award nominations.
Tickets for 2020 went on General Sale on Friday 27 September 2019.
Performances will be Thursday 2 July – Saturday 6 September 2020.
