Sandra Marvin to takeover from Marisha Wallace in Waitress London West End cast

Sandra Marvin will takeover from Marisha Wallace in the cast of Waitress in London’s West End.

American actress Wallace is part of the original London cast of the hit musical, playing the role of Becky.

She will be playing her final performance on Thursday, October 10.

Wallace tweeted: “Sadly saying goodbye to the diner THURSDAY Oct. 10th. ? but it’s been a wonderful ride.

“This show will always have a slice of my heart. Hope to see you all at my last shows. @WaitressLondon”

Before Waitress, Wallace was in the West End production of Dreamgirls and previously appeared in the original Broadway casts of Aladdin and Something Rotten!

Sandra Marvin will take over the role from October 17.

Marvin recently appeared in ITV’s Emmerdale as Jessie Dingle. Her stage credits include Committee, City of Angels, Showboat, Hairspray Porgy & Bess and Ragtime.

With a Tony and Grammy nominated score by Sara Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson and direction by Paulus, Waitress features a ground-breaking, all-female lead creative team.

It tells the story of Jenna a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage.

Alongside Marisha, Lucie Jones currently appears in the lead role of Jenna with Laura Baldwin as Dawn and Joe Sugg in the role of Ogie.

The current casting also includes David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter and Andrew Boyer as diner owner Old Joe.

Completing the current cast are Kelly Agbowu, Piers Bate, Cindy Belliot, Michael Hamway, Peter Hannah, Stephen Leask, Chris McGuigan, Olivia Moore, Nathaniel Morrison, Sarah O’Connor, Leanne Pinder and Charlotte Riby and Mark Willshire.

Originally opening in February of this year, the musical this month extended its booking period until March 28, 2020 with new tickets now on sale.
