Six The Musical said goodbye to three of its long-reigning Queens on Sunday night.
The latest show saw the final performances of Aimie Atkinson (Katherine Howard), Millie O’Connell (Anne Boleyn) and Maiya Quansah-Breed (Catherine Parr).
During the final Megasix number, which the audience are encouraged to film, the queens were joined on stage by the show’s alternates and former cast leading an epic performance from 11 Queens.
You can watch Six The Musical’s cast change Megasix in the video below…
Performances of Six resume at the Arts Theatre in London’s West End from Tuesday, October 15.
Courtney Bowman will take over from O’Connell in the role of Anne Boleyn with Danielle Steers replacing Quansah-Breed as Catherine Parr.
Former alternate Vicki Manser will now perform the role of Katherine Howard full time until at least December.
Meanwhile, Collette Guitart has joined as dance captain/understudy with Shekinah Macfarlane, Cherelle Jay, Zara MacIntosh and Hana Stewart as alternates.
They join continuing cast members Alexia McIntosh (Anna of Cleves), Jarneia Richard-Noel (Catherine of Aragon) and Natalie Paris (Jane Seymour).
With a powerhouse pop score by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six turns Tudor queens into pop princesses as 500 years of historical heartbreak becomes an hour of 21st century sass.
Thanks to word of mouth, it’s grown since its world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 to its current critically acclaimed run in the West End.
Alongside the London production, a Six The Musical UK tour will later this month in Guildford with dates currently running to summer 2020.
The show is also currently being staged in North America, with a Broadway transfer recently announced for next Spring.
