Hannah Tointon to join Waitress cast in London’s West End

Hannah Tointon is to join the cast of Waitress in London’s West End.

The star of The Inbetweeners, Mr Selfridge and Hollyoaks will play the role of Dawn from December.

She will take over from original London cast member Laura Baldwin in the role.

Baldwin plays her final performance on Saturday, November 30 before Tointon joins the diner from December 2.

Tointon is perhaps best known for her roles as Katy Fox in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks and Tara Brown in E4’s The Inbetweeners. Her other TV credits include Mr Selfridge and Call the Midwife.

Her stage credits include the role of Zelda in The Jazz Age at the Playground Theatre.

Meanwhile, it’s also been announced that Lucie Jones will be continuing in the lead role of Jenna through until at least January 25, 2020.

With a Tony and Grammy nominated score by Sara Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson and direction by Paulus, Waitress features a ground-breaking, all-female lead creative team.

It tells the story of Jenna a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage.

Originally opening in February of this year, the musical is currently booking until March 28, 2020.

Performances Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm with Wednesday & Saturday matinees at 2:30pm.
