David Hasselhoff is to join the cast of 9 to 5: The Musical in London’s West End.
The legendary screen and stage actor will join the company from December 2, it’s been announced today (October 28). Tickets are on sale now.
Hasselhoff will take on the role of Franklin Hart Jr in the production currently running at the Savoy Theatre.
With a score written by country music icon Dolly Parton, 9 To 5 The Musical is based on the 1980s comedy movie of the same name, which Dolly starred in.
It tells the story of workmates Doralee, Violet and Judy who push back against sexist supervisor Franklin Hart. The Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score features some of Parton’s biggest hits, including the legendary ‘9 to 5’, as well as original songs written for the show.
A new video featuring both Dolly Parton and David Hasselhoff was shared this morning.
The official 9 to 5 Musical Twitter account posted alongside the clip, which you can watch below: “STOP THE PRESS. Legend of screen and stage @DavidHasselhoff joins the London cast of @DollyParton’s #9to5Musical from 2 December. It’s going to be hofftastic.”
