David Hasselhoff to join cast of 9 to 5: The Musical in London’s West End

David Hasselhoff has joined the cast of 9 to 5: The Musical in London’s West End.

The legendary screen and stage actor joined the company from December 2. Tickets are on sale now.

Hasselhoff takes on the role of Franklin Hart Jr in the production currently running at the Savoy Theatre.

With a score written by country music icon Dolly Parton, 9 To 5 The Musical is based on the 1980s comedy movie of the same name, which Dolly starred in.

It tells the story of workmates Doralee, Violet and Judy who push back against sexist supervisor Franklin Hart. The Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score features some of Parton’s biggest hits, including the legendary ‘9 to 5’, as well as original songs written for the show.

A new video featuring both Dolly Parton and David Hasselhoff was shared earlier this year.

The official 9 to 5 Musical Twitter account posted alongside the clip, which you can watch below: “STOP THE PRESS. Legend of screen and stage @DavidHasselhoff joins the London cast of @DollyParton’s #9to5Musical from 2 December. It’s going to be hofftastic.”

Hasselhoff replaced Brian Conley in the cast, who played his final performance on November 30.

The current West End cast features Caroline Sheen as Violet Newstead, Chelsea Halfpenny as Judy Bernly, Natalie Mcqueen as Doralee Rhodes and Bonnie Langford as Roz Keith.

As well as its current West End production, 9 to 5 The Musical is currently touring the UK.

Meanwhile, the 9 to 5 Musical in the West End recently extended its booking period until April 2020.
