Cast for The Last Five Years at Southwark Playhouse revealed

The cast has been announced for The Last Five Years at London’s Southwark Playhouse.

Jason Robert Brown’s musical will run at the venue from February 28 through to March 28.

The intimate sung-through piece features a cast of just two, telling the story of a couple’s five year relationship.

Appearing in the role of Cathy will be Molly Lynch while Oli Higginson will take on the role of Jamie.

The production is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle and features a unique actor-musician staging with Lynch and Higginson accompanied by a four piece band.

Choreography comes from Sam Spencer-Lane with design by Lee Newby, lighting by Jamie Platt, sound from Adam Fisher and musical direction and orchestrations by George Dyer.

The Last Five Years first opened in Chicago in 2001 before a run off-Broadway in 2002. The show made its London debut in 2016 with Samantha Barks and Jonathan Bailey playing the lead roles at the St. James Theatre (now The Other Palace).

Alongside stage productions across the world, in 2015 a movie version was released starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.
