Rufus Hound, Katy Brand to join Everybody’s Talking About Jamie cast in West End

Rufus Hound and Katy Brand are to join the cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie in London’s West End.

Inspired by a true story, the musical has proven a huge hit with audiences ever since opening in 2017.

After recently extending its run through to September 2020 at the Apollo Theatre, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has now announced two new cast members.

Actress and comedian Katy Brand will take on the role of Miss Hedge from March 3 through to June 20.

Fellow comic and actor Rufus Hound will play the role of Hugo/Loco Chanelle from March 16 through to May 30.

They join the recently refreshed West End cast that saw Noah Thomas take over the title role from Layton Williams.

Drag superstar Bianca Del Rio – real name Roy Haylock – is currently in the role of Hugo/Loco Chanelle with Preeya Kalidas as Miss Hedge.

Also new to the cast for 2020 are Hiba Elchikhe as Pritti Pasha, David O’Reilly as Laika Virgin, Leon Craig as Sandra Bollock, Jordan Ricketts as Dean, Zion Battles as Levi and Keenan Knight as Sayid with Ebony Clarke joining as Swing/Dance Captain, Joe Wolstenholme as Swing and Brian James Leys as Understudy.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tells the story of how 16-year-old Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps into the spotlight from the darkness.

Alongside the West End production, the musical recently started its first UK tour in February with Layton Williams in the titular role while a film adaption is due for release later this year.
