Jay McGuiness and Kimberley Walsh to star in Sleepless the Musical

Jay McGuiness and Kimberley Walsh will star in a new musical based on Sleepless in Seattle.

Sleepless, a Musical Romance will open on April 1 at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in London following previews from March 24.

Based on the screenplay of the iconic film, Sleepless tells the story of Sam who moves to Seattle with his eight-year-old son Jonah following the death of his wife. When Jonah calls in to a talk-radio program to find a new partner for his father, one listener finds herself going to great lengths to meet Sam.

The cast will be led by Jay McGuiness as Sam and Kimberley Walsh as Annie, reuniting after starring in Big the Musical last year.

Joining them are Daniel Casey as Walter, Harriet Thorpe as Eleanor, Tania Mathurin as Becky and Jake Sharp as Rob.

Completing the cast are Charlie Bull, Colin Burnicle, Christie-Lee Crosson, Laura Darton, Leanne Garretty, Matt Holland, Ross McLaren, Gary Murphy, Dominique Planter, Annie Wensak and Benjamin Wong.

Sharing the role of Jonah will be Theo Collis, Mikey Colville and Jack Reynolds.

The production is directed by Morgan Young and features a book by Michael Burdette and two new British writers – music by Robert Scott and lyrics by Brendan Cull.

You can get tickets online here.

The show is currently booking through to May 3.
