Andrew Lloyd Webber to stream his musicals online for free

Andrew Lloyd Webber will stream his musicals online for free via YouTube over the coming weeks.

Lloyd Webber has announced a new online series called The Shows Must Go On which will make a selection of his works available to watch online for free.

First up is the 2000 adaptation of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which stars Donny Osmond, Joan Collins and Richard Attenborough.

You’ll be able to watch online via YouTube.com/TheShowsMustGoOn from 7PM On Friday April 3 with the musical available to watch on demand for 48 hours over the weekend.

The 2012 production of Jesus Christ Superstar – with Tim Minchin, Mel C and Chris Moyles – will follow the next weekend.

Further musicals in the series will be confirmed in due course.

Meanwhile, alongside full musicals, the new YouTube channel will share famous performances of Lloyd Webber’s songs and behind-the-scenes clips from his productions.

While free to watch, viewers are encouraged to show their support by making a donation to charities alongside each video, including Acting for Others, Broadway Cares and Actors Benevolent Fund.
