David Walliams’ Billionaire Boy to play West End this summer

David Walliams’ Billionaire Boy is to play London’s West End this summer.

David Walliams has teamed up with Birmingham Stage Company and Coalition Agency on the stage version of his book, which is adapted and directed by Neal Foster

A drive in tour this Spring will be followed by a run in London at London’s Garrick Theatre between 17 July and 22 August 2021.

Walliams said: “I am absolutely delighted this fantastic family show of my book is coming to the West End. It is really funny and I can’t wait to see it again.”

A teaser for the show reads: “Written by one of the UKs most celebrated children’s authors, David Walliams, Billionaire Boy tells the story of twelve year old Joe Spud, the richest boy in the country!

“He has his own sports car, two crocodiles as pets and £100,000 a week pocket money! But what Joe doesn’t have is a friend. So he decides to leave his posh school and start at the local comp. But things don’t go as planned for Joe and life becomes a rollercoaster as he tries to find what money can’t buy!”

Alongside Billionaire Boy, Birmingham Stage Company will also present Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain – Part Five! at the Apollo Theatre from 29 July to 28 August 2021.
