Original West End cast of Spring Awakening reunite to sing ‘Mama Who Bore Me’

The original West End cast of Spring Awakening have reunited in lockdown for a special performance.

It’s been 11 years since the Olivier Award Winning Spring Awakening closed and now it’s time for a major throwback.

Lucy May Barker, Natasha Barnes, Hayley Gallivan, Evelyn Hoskins and Charlotte Wakefield have got together (virtually, of course) to sing ‘Mama Who Bore Me’

You watch the performance, featuring video & audio by James Taylor, above.

Spring Awakening, with music by Duncan Sheik and lyrics and book by Steven Sater, made its world premiere off-Broadway in 2006.

Based on the German play of the same name by Frank Wedekind, the original West End production played the Lyric Theatre and Novello Theatre in 2009 winning four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical.
